Another volunteer day

Today I take a church friend out to Hershey Medical Center for her chemotherapy treatment. I do this every three weeks. She's a darling person. This takes from 8 AM to about 1 PM, depending on how things go. So, if I'm not too tired when I get back, I'll make the rounds this evening. I miss you guys.

I am very happy to be able to do this for Peggy. She's had two cancers, and all the while her husband is quite sick. He had a liver transplant during her first cancer. Now he needs a new kidney. These are not old people. They are middle-aged. I have my health. I'm humbled by my good luck.

So off I go. But I could leave you with a little something I suppose.
So....

there you are, having a dinner party.....
Your parents are there,
Your in-laws are there,
Your boss and his wife are there,
The minister and his wife are there,
You're all settling down for a nice relaxing evening dinner,
Then in walks the dog....

Jim & Peggy are indeed sweet people. I didn't realize until recently that Peggy had cancer again.

Strangest looking bone I ever seen! Woof!

You are a caring lady with a weird sense of humour.
The dog is a bitch right? Otherwise...taking this bone would involve a major life-style choice :)

Well, at least he has the decency to look embarrassed about the whole thing...

And it's not as if what he did should be frowned upon, it just wasn't you know that sort of party!

Your volunteering is wonderful.

Where can I get one of those toys? ROTFL!!!

The poor doggie looks ashamed.

My heart goes out to your friend and her husband. I hope their health problems get resolved. Beating cancer twice would be a marvelous thing!

The poor dog looks sort of embarrassed, doesn't he?

It's amazing what toys you can buy at the Pet Shop nowadays. Is it meat or fish flavored?

How embarrassing -- now the whole world knows that your dog uses sex toys!

Good dog! Woof!

It is easy to take health for granted until you are in contact with someone who doesn't have theirs. I hope her chemo doesn't drain her too much over the holiday.

Best wishes for Peggy.
And you find some mighty funny pictures!

My thoughts are with those you're caring for and my admiration for you grows.

As for the picture, it reminded me of one time when I was a 17 and babysitting 3 boys. One of them came into the living room with a "toy" he'd found under his mommy's bed, asking if he could play with it. It was mortifying and hilarious at the same time.

Don't put things like that in your mouth, doggy! You don't know where it's been!

What a good thing you do to take Peggy for her treatments! Bless you for that.

The poor dog looks embarrassed indeed.
