My Son, My Son...

Today is the 40th anniversary of my son's birth. He died at age 26. We are all thinking of him and missing him.

We sponsored the flowers at church today in his memory. The church service was canceled, and the flowers are there in a cold and empty sanctuary. Let it be that he is in a sweet, warm, safe place.

It's snowing...again

It's snowing on Aral's Excellent Adventure. We're having a nice visit. Hope she's enjoying it too.
It's pretty outside with the light snow. Cold, but not horribly cold. Nice.

Phantom of the Opera

We went to see The Phantom of the Opera today. It's very long. It's also very good. I'm in love with the Phantom, Gerard Butler. The heroine, Christine, was crazy to pick DeChagny over the Phantom. Oh, well. I wanted to have a poster of the movie, but can't find anything with .jpeg.

Too much rain

Okay. It can stop raining now. It's rained enough already.

So much rain makes me ...something. I don't know what. Not depressed exactly, but annoyed. Can we have some snow now?

T.S. Eliot

This idea is from Aral's blog. Here it is:Grab the nearest book.Open the book to page 23.Find the fifth sentence.Post the text of the sentence in your journal (along with these instructions).

Nearest book (I'm in a room of books, I took one from the top.): Modern American Poets. Page 23, fifth sentence is the first line of a poem (duh).

"A cold coming we had of it, Just the worst time of the year For a journey, and such a long journey: The ways deep and the weather sharp, The very dead of winter."
