What I do while Niks is getting dressed for church

Today is STILL Ol’ Hoss' birthday! Hoo Boy. The party just goes on and on.

Somehow, I did not get my slice of the cake. Hoss musta eaten it all. That Hoss.

But since I'm feeling better and I (have to) get to teach Sunday School this morning, I thought I'd just pop in here while Niks is getting dressed and put up some stupid post or other. So that's what I'm doing now. Just puttin' up a dumb post to waste your time. Is it working?

How much time have you wasted here? Huh? Think about it. You outta be doing something else worthwhile right this minute.

I shouldn't have put the “else” in that sentence. 'Cause that implies that this is worthwhile. And we know that it's not. Worthwhile, I'm sayin'. So I should have just said: You outta be doing something worthwhile right this minute.

But, wait! You just learned an important English lesson. So that's worthwhile. Okay, then. All rightie. I don't feel so bad. Oh. Just remembered. All of you knew that lesson already. You guys. So smart.

You make Tan Lucy proud.

You should be shamed of yourselves if you're still reading this down here. I know that Hoss quit.

Ha. A colleague is someone with whom you share ambition. A friend is someone with whom you waste time.

I have enough &^%$#& colleagues, thank you very much.

Sometimes my head is just whipping back and forth as I read your posts, TLP. She's Up!, She's Down! Glad you're feeling better! xoxo

Never on your tintype would I quit reading your piece until it is 3 outs in the bottom of the ninth. Sometimes your closing remark is the best part of your blog. Today, of close, none of your remarks were the best part, but I guess you can't have everything...

(And now, with that smart remark, I will turn on the Tabernacle Choir or maybe Tammy Faye Baker, and atone for my sin.)

I know that Hoss skims my posts, reading only every third word. However, to give the guy credit, he did learn and Baxter is a poodle and Bailey is a schnoodle!

You didn't look sick to me today. Actually, you rarely look bad.

Poor ol' Dad was having some coughing trouble during the service, and the fan didn't help, I think. Either.

But it is a beooooootiful day, and you are out shopping with my darling daughters, and I'm not. Life is good.

Great life is made up of all those little times you waste,, while you do or read something that is of no consequence, but that make you feel happy and relaxed.

I am staying home today with a sick kid and had nothing better to do than get a grammar and syntax lesson on line.
Did the kid get this from you two??

Well, it was a stretch to read that fine print (middle aged vision), but I made it!

I am happy to hear you are feeling better and went to teach today.

Have a good week.

It's been a very enjoyable time here. Sure, there may have been something else worthwhile to do, but I choose to do this. Consider yourself entertaining...

Never a waste of time reading your thoughts and I almost always learn something!

Wow! I can still read the fine print!

Thanks for the English lesson. And the contribution to the pirate story!

Glad you're feeling better and all, but the thing that caught my attention is, YOU were waiting on your HUSBAND to get dressed? Doesn't that violate some universal law about married life? Isn't is supposed to be the other way around?

Pride is a sin. What do you mean, have to go to church? It must be because it's not a Christian church... I'd feel the same way myself.

Very funny. I love reading you! Your last line reminds me of one year around Christmas time when our extended family was zipping emails back and forth about the upcoming holiday visit.

One brother, who is 8 years older than I am, never scrolls down on his emails. I'm always saying, "But I said that in my email!" and he says, "Where! I never saw it!"

"It was towards the end...did you scroll down?"

"Nah, I didn't have time."

Well, there ya go, then.

So we all started leaving snarky little messages for him at the bottom of each email. "Hey, Rick, too bad you won't read this part because you've gotten that scrolling phobia, but we got you a DVD for your Christmas present!" and "Remember when Rick wet the bed that time? Wow, that was embarrassing; does everyone on this list remember that? Hey, you in-laws; ever heard that story?" Etc.

We just kept ribbing him on and on for maybe 30 emails or more, but since he never read anything under where you need to scroll he missed all the comments.

We told him about it at Christmas, but he STILL didn't get it. Just shrugged and looked bewildered.

Which made us all laugh even harder. Heh.

I've got so much time on my hands to waste that I read your post two times. How's that?
And I whistled.

Well actually, I need to reword that... I guess I should say that I've got so much valuable time on my hands, and that I still read the post two times! Wouldn't want to infer that this blog is a waste of time. Just wanted to clear that up. But I still whistled.
