Success

"Our lives are not determined by what happens to us but by how we react to what happens, not by what life brings to us, but by the attitude we bring to life. A positive attitude causes a chain reaction of positive thoughts, events, and outcomes. It is a catalyst, a spark that creates extraordinary results. " Anon.

What do YOU think?

Wow, so true. I truly believe that what happens in our lives is a direct result of how we react to various happenings.

Very cool.

I guess I feel like life is a cross between the choices we make and the things that are beyond our control. For things that are beyond our control, we can react in ways that might make it all better or worse.... but certainly these things still make a huge difference!

I mean, I could've been born into a poor family in Pakistan (or wherever). I couldn't POSSIBLY have created the same life that I have now if that had been my starting point.

I could've been born blind or autistic or whatever. Again, that certainly narrows your possibilities.

So yes, you can always make good choices and direct your life from where you are... but you don't get to pick your starting point.

A good attitude makes a world of difference in every area of life. It's not always easy to have a good attitude though, because life can throw us some pretty rotten stuff.

Glad to hear you had a good time in Boston.

Absolutely correct. Wise words of the day, indeed!

a positive attitude can make the life you have more pleasant, fersure. No, you don't get to pick your starting point, but rational choices and coping well are true talents! happy day:)

I concur. I recall an old woman who lived through the Holocaust who came to my German class in high school and taught us the song, "Die Gedanken Sind Frei" (our thoughts are free). We always have control over our thoughts and attitude, even in the most desperate of situations. It may or may not result in the positive outcome you desire, but you can choose to view life in a way that can give you peace, no matter the outside influences.
