Pez Pity Party

I have to go to the dentist this afternoon. It's just a cleaning, for gosh sakes. No big deal. But I hate going to the dentist. Just hate it. I have good teeth. Can't remember the last time I had to have something done other than cleaning. Still hate going. Sigh.

Poor, poor, pitiful me. Emphasis on pitiful.

Quit whining. Think about all the metal I have in MY mouth. Before kindergarten. And four root canals and crowns. Actually, a couple had to be re-done.

Oh do I identify! I have dental phobia to the extremes. And what cured me was this.

One day, I went in to the office.(my dentist knows me.) I was told that I had some work to be done, it would take an hour. No labels, nothing. I insisted on seeing all the instruments used before the work commenced. Meaningless. It turned out the dentist was performing a root canal! Had I heard that word, I would have bolted out it a matter of seconds.
But you know what? My fear was actually worse than the experience itself!

You have a great daughter, my the way! Aral always makes me smile.

I'm a firm believer in taking good care of your teeth. The more you take good care of them, then the less actual painful horrendous terrifying time you will have to spend in the dentist's chair later. hope that makes you feel better. :-)

Now you have to check out my other new blog at thedogpack.blogger.com aka Paw Prints.

well, I feel pretty sorry for you. but maybe you will get some sugarless gum or a sugarless sucker when you're done. Also, you should remember, YOU HAVE APPARENTLY BEEN THROUGH CHILDBIRTH FOUR TIMES. This should hurt a bit less. xoxoxoxo

Well, we can all hope you have a couple of cavities and need some painful work done. That will give you something to really whine about and blog about too.

Listen, there's got to come a time in your life when:

good teeth=life span. Meaning, if you got good teeth now they'll probably be good for a long time so why get the cleaning? Do what you have been and you'll be fine, according to Dr. Hoss.

(In other words, I hate going to the dentist, too.)

Whatever you do, don't let them touch your wisdom teeth! ACK!

I prefer the dentist to the doctor...I hate those “Popsicle” sticks/cotton swabs doctors jam down your throat...
