Watch out for the squirrels...

Have you noticed how fat the squirrels are this year? They're usually not fat so early. I guess we had a pretty mild winter after all. Most of the snow was late, and therefore didn't stay all that long on the ground.

When I was searching for a picture of a squirrel, I came across a picture of squirrel droppings! What's up with that? Someone thinks that a picture of squirrel poo should be available on the Internet? There are some squirrely people out there.

Niks and I watched The Birds (movie) yesterday! How funny. Squirrels would have been scarier. Posted by Hello

I personally am a squirrel fan. I don't understand why people dislike them so much. So they eat bird food -- good for them! They're smart and athletic and can score from almost any bird feeder. Good for them! Plus, they are VERY entertaining for my cats to look at out the window, and the doggie likes to bark at them too. Good stuff!

I like squirrels okay. But I get annoyed with them at the bird feeders. Squirrels don't need to be fed, birds do need food if we want to see them in the winter. Squirrels have broken three bird feeders that I bought. I'm not mad at the squirrels, but they really are just rats with good press. Translation: nice tails.

I guess you're old enough to hear that your father has admired my tail on occasion.

check my blog for some squirrely sites ... we were feeding squirrels pretty regularly here (see pics on my blog). At Penn State, feeding the squirrels was quite a pasttime.

There was a BBC documentary years ago about birding and birdfeeders. By the time they were done, it had become a show about squirrels. They had been on a quest to find the perfect squirrel-proof feeder ... and never found one. They continued it with another show about how smart squirrels were, by setting up all kinds of obstacle courses for them to go thru to get to the food.
