It's that time of year

It's that time of year when you start getting free calendars from your hair stylist, your congressperson, the mechanic, and so on.

But of course, you can buy a calendar to support a cause.

Julieanne Smolinski writes that "Men on a Mission, a calendar of shirtless Mormon missionaries, was created last year by Chad Hardy, a former missionary and Brigham Young University grad. Chad claims the calendars, the sale of which go to assorted charities, are meant to de-mythologize Mormon sexuality and promote understanding between religions (because nipples are the universal language)." That Julieanne. I think I like her. (Poor ol' Chad was excommunicated.)

These mortuary guys donate two bucks from each sale to breast cancer. Makes me sorry that I had my Mama cremated. These hunks coulda dug her grave. Sob.

The Naked Fishermen have a calendar too. Some sorta "save the fish" thingie I guess. Yeah. Save the fish from drowning. You do that by removing them from the water. Like that.

And of course, you have the ever-popular naked chef stuff:

Personally, I'd want to know if a net was used before I tasted that....food.

Now this one is just disturbing. DISTURBING.

The bare naked clowns give their money to Multiple Sclerosis, which is a wonderful cause. Their calendar features clowns "in a myriad of positions designed to delight...." And answers questions such as "Who’s bendy like a gummy bear?"

Scary. Interesting. But mostly scary.

These men took it off their old bodies to raise money for their local schools.

They're a big group.

This is probably their centerfold. Be still my heart.

But I've decided to buy a naked firemen calendar. Mmmmmmm.... firemen are so hot.

Hey TLP,

Thank you for being kind enough to comment on my blog :)

Yes, I am a loquacious one. Its a childhood problem :) They haven't found a cure for it yet!

And yes, I know we spell things "differently" here in India :) But these are things that would stand out anywhere!

Nice calendars. Didnt know there were so many out there! Thats something to explore :)
Nice blog you have. Will have to keep coming back.

Thanks again for dropping in, and do come again

Hafta say I liked the naked chef best... but I'm not copping to it. Um... well, when I was a youngster (roughly aged 12) my friends and I got our hands on some kind of nudist publication called the Jay Magazine... Hmmm coinckidink? I think not. It showed many people - adult girls and boys... mostly boys in a line up similar to the your oldies on the rail... I couldn't see much though I tried hard. I never forgot it... but truly it isn't my cup of tea then or now.

I'd rather have pics of cute kittens on my calendar. ;-)

I have a Sports Illustrated calendar that features their swimsuit models. I think I'll stick to that one next year.

Having thought it over, I think the clowns are the most disturbing. I mean, ew.

LOL, LOL....These are FABULOUS! I think my favorite is The Mormon one...Mostly because the guy was excommunicated...! That Chef is pretty hunky, isn't he?
And the Old Man one....It's like "Calender Girls"....! I do love that they have all ripped the idea off from the Calender Girls. And it is a wonderful way to raise monet for a deserving Charity.
Thanks for this, my dear TLP...This Made My Day! AHHHHHH To be young again....(I think...!)

I like the chef, but I'm not sure I'd want to eat the food! Something about people cooking naked just ain't right, IMO!
