You know the drill. Ya gotta say Rabbit Rabbit on the first of each month for good luck. It's the first day of the new year, so you just better rabbit rabbit for sure.
Hope you animals don't have a hangover this morning.
In this neck of the woods you have to eat pork and sauerkraut on January first for luck as well. Whatdaya have to do where you live?

i have a whole post prepared on how much i hate that stuff. lol
happy new year to you!
Those rabbit rabbits are going to need Dawg hair ....
I don't know Hawaii's good luck tradition. We will be eating roast chicken with stuffing -- the holiday meal we didn't have on either Thanksgiving or Christmas. As far as OC is concerned, the fact that he has food at all is lucky. He still hasn't forgotten his hunger.
Back home I was made to eat black eyed peas -- nasty things. How could swallowing something that disgusting be considered lucky?
Rabbit Rabbit times twelve. We want to cover the whole year just to be safe.
Hare Rabbit ;). And Happy Fourth of July! No, wait ... hey, you'd never know the difference around here. There're so many firecrackers going off, there's smoke in the forecast for O'ahu through tomorrow morning. No, really ...
Rabbit Rabbit. I like pork and sauerkraut. But I'm stuck with leftovers.
We eat bacon, eggs, hash browns and other greasy things that aid hangover recovery.
Rabbit, rabbit! Those drunk rabbits make me wonder, though, won't they drop your luck?
Happy New Year, too%
rabbit rabbit. (the sight and smell of saurkraut makes me puke.)
Ah at last - a white rabbit! A Happy healthy 2008 to you and yours.
I have to eat all the chocolate that's left in the house. Cherry chocolate liqueurs next!
Rabbit, rabbit!
I just remembered hoppin' John. Black eyed peas for good luck and collards for prosperity.
rabbit rabbit, and a happy new year.
Im having tea for awakeness right now, but that's not special for new year's.
:p
happy new year!!
my mom used to make a big pork roast with sauerkraut, mashed potatoes, dumplings, etc...she always told me i had to eat it for good luck....so when does THAT happen????
Happy New Year!
Down here in the south, people seem to think that you need to eat black eyed peas. Don't ask why. I have no idea. That polar bear looks like he / she is in bad shape. It must have eaten too many drunk rabbits.
Rabbit, rabbit and very very Happy New Year to you.
Happy New Year, TLP!
Where I gre up it was pork and cabbage. Down here it's black-eyed peas and collard greens - but I had neither today. I did, however, find a penny, heads-up today. I take that as a great sign!
The crazies up here go for a dip in the Atlantic. Now I love the beach but with an air temp of 15 and a water temp of about 36 I guess I'll just wait until summer.
Bunny Bunny
Rabbit, Rabbit.
We never had any traditions about what we ate on the 1st when I was a kid. So I still just fix whatever. Today we had spaghetti and meatballs.
rabbot, rabbit..TLP.
In my neck of the...lavarocks we have to survive a meal that features everythign leftover from teh last two weeks with egg. Given that this is Iceland, it sure is a test of one's stomach :)
A wonderful 2008 to you!
Not so much eating, but watching - as in The Twilight Zone and Honeymooners marathons. I admit I didn't get much time to watch, but thank goodness for the DVR. And as Boo mentioned, the Polar Bear club jumps into the waters in Coney Island. Brrrrrr. But on the Jewish New Year, there are many customs - mostly involving eating something sweet for a sweet new year, such as dipping an apple in honey or honey cake.
Happy and healthy New Year to you and the wonderful Pez family!
Two days late...BUT, "Rabbit, Rabbit, anyway....Those are the dearest cutest pictures....!
No real traditions here except to 'rest up'....! (lol)
I wish you and yours the very BEST 2008, my dear....! Health & Happiness to you and ALL those you hold close!
Best I did this year was Galumpkis ... stuffed cabbage. Hope it's good luck anyway. HAPPY NEW YEAR! All my best to you and yours, TLP. You're my favorite blog browser and reservoir of Mark Twainian (if he was a girl) humor. XOXO m
Owen Manybucks of Rattling Bones Undead Musician Magazine is at it again! Owen's favorite band is Death Cheese because those guys party like it's 2099.
Owen Manybucks is a rabbit, BTW. Also a photographer for Rattling Bones Undead Musician Magazine. I thought maybe I better explain that.
