Yep. It's officially cold outside

It's cold. If I'm cold, it's officially cold. I don't mind cold weather and seldom bother with a real coat. I generally just put on a jacket, if that.

But at least we got a nice little snow last night. Looks pretty. It's not a problem snow, it's a light snow. Light as in not wet. Wet snow is less fun. Unless. Unless you're making snowmen and snowballs. Wet snow is very good for those things.

For those of you, and you know who you are, who hate snow, please look at this picture below and think about how lucky you are here in the land of not-much-snow.

Imagine opening your door and seeing this! That snow.

Life is so short. While you are hoping for spring to come, don't forget to enjoy this day.

January is half over.

WOW! If you open your door and see that you are free to go back to your bed, aren't you? Or even better, have a snowball fight at home!

Absolutely, Ariel.

It's freaking 80 here.

Icy said it was zero outside, which means no temperature.

If I opened my door and saw that much snow, I'd go back to bed for a month!

i agree about the snow. it was nice to get the light fluffy kind rather than the slush falling from the sky.

Okay, I'm completely beaten into submission. There is no better torture for one born under the sunny skies of Southern California, to see such a horrible sight such as your snowfilled doorway. *hangs her feathered head*... and begins flying (as a crow will).

If I opened my door and saw that I would calmly close the door, call the boss, tell them not to expect to see me till the spring thaw, then go back to sleep.

If I opened the door anbd saw that snow I would probably burst out laughing. I mean really??? How ridiculous is that amount of snow???

I didn't get snowed in that badly, but in 2005 we got hit pretty hard a couple of times. The snow was about thigh deep. I actually couldn't open my front door. Luckily my ex husband came over to visit our son, and he dug us out.

One of the many differences between our countries - US and UK is that we have damp cold, which is miserable and you have dry cold which - I think is more exhilarating.
My daffodils are in bud:)

I grew up in a small town close to the mountains where it snowed a lot. Now I live in a city only 20 kms away from that town. But the weather is so different. I does snow, but rarely do we see a white city :(

LOL Icy!

Actonbell, don't be sad! Sit back with a book and a tea, take your time, enjoy reading good book in a snow covered house, I happily do the snow work. With the no snow we have these years I can hardly wait to start. :)

I try not to wish away the winter. It goes so fast anyway.

I can't imagine opening my door to all that snow! That would be scary!!

It was 26 degrees here last week. Looks like I need to move to the Caymans or points south.

Global warming and a snow post following each other...your place is close to a melt down. Iceland looked this morning somewhere between your first and second picture :)
