Sleepless in PA

Can't sleep. None of YOU are awake and posting. Big help you are. Some people. Just can't count on'em.

I know that insomnia is very common. Nothing to lose sleep over.

Since I can't count on you, I tried counting other things.

Hasn't worked so far.

Guess it's my own damn fault.

It's almost time for most people to get up anyway.

Just saying that made me sleepy. I'm goin' back to bed.

  3. I have insomnia too. It's HORRIBLE. When it's really bad (like last night) and I know I have to be compos mentis the next day, I take half of a small blue tablet. It works: here I am bright-eyed and bushy-tailed! Sometimes I sing a little French nursery rhyme to myself but my memory isn't what it used to be and trying to remember the fourth verse keeps me awake.

  4. When I dream of a heard of tofu, they're chasing me and I can't run because my feet are dragging through a river of groats.

  5. I always sleep better when it's time to get up for work.

  6. Peter, Well? then they could entertain me.

T&I: I did get some sleep.

Bela: Yep. Only someone who has been tired and wants to sleep knows how it feels NOT to be able to sleep. I can't take sleep aids. They make me MORE wakeful.

Doug: Counting food just makes me hungry. That includes sheep of course. Yum.

Goldennib: Exactly! I don't labor for money any longer, but I sleep best when it's time to get up.

As long as no one is waiting for your bright morning face, make your own sleep schedule. I always hated that I had to go to bed when I was awake and get up when I was asleep.

  9. Jan, I have a morning walking partner who can't make herself walk when I don't walk...

Judy, I can and I did.

  14. Hope you are sleeping better. My mom gave me a herbal sleep aid that I just love! Sleep well with no hang-over.

'Course you could try counting sheep - sometime the old standards work! =-)

    Sleep well tonight!

  17. Lime, yes I did. Snored 'til noon.

Kate, counting is bad for retired accountants.

Lazy I, well, then you should have amused me if'n you were awake. Oh, yeah, the Penquin and the polar bear can't get together can they? heh heh

Hoss and Sharyl, you have to say nice things to me. You're family.

  18. I have never tried it yet for insomnia - I'd have to get ear-phones - but listening to any taped story or play sends me right off. I've slept through lots of classics!

  19. Here you are trying to keep us awake with your insomnia!! Oh well, I guess misery does love company!! :)

I have insomnia sometimes. Not a fun thing. But at least we have computers to play on when we can't sleep!!!

  20. PI, voices keep me awake. Even boring stuff. A train could run through the bedroom and that won't bother me if I'm ready to sleep, but voices...

    Rachel, yes TGF PCs.

  26. You should definitely try one of the Hemi-Sync sleep CD's. I got a full night sleep for the 1st time in 7 years after listening to it on my head phones laying in bed. No hangover, just good vibes and feel fully rested.
