We're half way through January!

I just wanted to cheer you up. I mean, it's almost spring, really.
We're half-way through one of the darkest months.

And just in case you made a New Year's resolution to not gain any weight, and you have maybe not taken any steps to make that happen, remember that you're very attractive, just as you are.

But if small planets start revolving around you, it is time to do something about it. Buy an acre out in the country, build an addition to the house, you know, be pro-active about it.

I know I was doing the "What I learned today" thing on my blog, but what I learned today is a secret. Hoss would say that comes under the heading of "too bad." That Hoss.

  6. Okay. What I learned yesterday is that it was only 18 days until Groundhog's Day. So today, Monday, January 16, there are 17 days left until Groundhog's Day.

Niks and I have always wanted to go to see Punxsutawney Phil predict the end of winter. So today I'm busy trying to make arrangements for that. I needed to talk to him about it before I started sayin' that we were going.

When I say that we "always" wanted to go, I mean that it all started with the movie, "Groundhog Day."

  8. Lucy, I have been by a few times and always crack up. Today I came by via Christine the "tag" queen. I was looking through your archives and last week Dick Cheney and I had the same HNT pose. ( www.freethinkingboo.com )I may have to "borrow" your pic of Dicky for the comparison.

  12. It isn't either secret. You got it from somebody, so that makes two of you who know. So might as well let your pals in on it. Please? I won't tell anybody.

(Watch this, guys. She is a sucker for people who beg.)

  13. That sounds like a perfect vacation, you definitely need to work on that. I'm just concerned that you might not make it back in order to tell us about it. I mean what if you get stuck in "today" and tomorrow never comes. Because yesterday today was tomorrow.

My MIL is in PA and has gone to see Phil several times, even before the movie. She says it is good fun.

I have been doing very well staying on my diet. Why can't New Year's resolutions be easy? Next year, mine is gonna be to breathe each day.

  21. The fact that we're halfway through January depresses me somewhat. I try not to wish my life away so I can wait for spring.

I used to be good at keeping secrets...

  25. January is not a dark month. Today the sun was out, and it was a crisp 75 degrees outside.
